In the 21st century, it is unlikely to carry out a successful business without marketing. From the very root of thinking, while this issue seems very vivid, there is still some uncertainty about whether advertising is as essential as it used to be or people have got used to this and it has no effect anymore?! Undoubtedly, this issue is controversial and I will designate some tangible reasons why both notions are worth noticing.
From the outset, sometimes relentless marketing makes people upset and dissatisfied. When an intriguing advertisement illustrates that a cutting-edge facial mask reduces wrinkles on our face, however, whenever they purchase them, it turns out that they have been a victim of marketing. The more people experience dissatisfaction, the fewer ones are gullible to them. Moreover, I believe that people who live in this century have sufficient knowledge not to be affected by the “Arch Effect”. Furthermore, people have become much more bolstered by knowledge, they can search for information about products, and get some tips from rankings on Google, thus marketing tricks cannot be as prominent as they used to be. Humans prone to be much more pragmatic and they cannot be easily fooled.
On the other hand, for some individuals, advertisements still remain gripping and they are prone to accept any offer, which is served appealingly. While discussing the importance of advertisements, Coca-Cola always pops into my mind. This fizzy drink is a part of Christmas Eve and the sole reason for that is very straightforward – the long beautiful red truck that suggests and makes people grab a bottle of Coca-Cola from the market. Therefore, marketing still has its niche, which has not been substituted for centuries. They can make us buy things unknowingly, moreover, sometimes advertising aids people in simplifying their lives, for instance, when a person has to undergo some daily routine stuff, he or she won’t think about some essential things about them. For instance, marketing can be a motivator, people are in a rush and never bear in mind that sometimes they should do things for their peril. Advertisements boost their motives, exercising for instance, when they illustrate gyms and people who work out, people become more encouraged to lead healthy lifestyles.
To compound the puzzle, advertising has never lost its prevalence, however, with the passage of time, people’s perceptions and preferences towards marketing have moderately changed. From my point of view, marketing is one of the most effective ways of helping businesses to remain competitive.
