There is considerable debate about whether commercials should be fully restricted due to the meaninglessness and uselessness they entail. Personally, I would advocate this statement based on some reasons that are explained in this essay.
On the one hand, there are some rationales behind the opinion of demolishing advertisements from folks. To begin with, the content of commercials may be problematic and entail negative influences on people engaged, especially teenagers. For instance, children are more likely to become addicted to electronic gadgets and video games, which can be ascribed to content-related publications. Consequently, due to excessive screen time, they not only have some physical problems like eye strain or headaches but also degradation in their academic results. Moreover, numerous media businesses can gather dwellers’ contacts to introduce their products; as a result, individuals might feel anxious because their personal information has been leaked and bothered because of repeated and regular calls and messages from various businesses.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that commercials would benefit humans’ lives. First, media companies usually conduct surveys to know consumers’ preferences and interests, so they might find suitable products that can meet their expectations without wasting a lot of time. Additionally, nowadays there is a great number of workers engaging in this industry, so forbidding this aspect may lead to an increase in the unemployment rate, which might be detrimental to one nation’s growth.
To recapitulate, while there are several benefits associated with the commercial industry, because of its potential adverse effects, I would prefer the idea of restricting the presence of advertisements.
