Band 7+: Some people believe that artificial intelligence (AI) will bring more benefits than drawbacks to society, while others argue that it will create more problems than it solves.

While some people argued that the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) will have a positive impact on society, others believe that it will create more problems than it solves. This essay will examine both perspectives before arguing that AI plays an important role in advancing human civilization by making people’s live easier and more efficient.

Proponents of artificial intelligence maintain that AI makes people lazier and reduce their creativity. People these days rely heavily on AI because they struggle to complete task independently. For instance, students often use AI to write essays or solve complex problems instead of trying to figure out the answers themselves. As a result, they may become overly dependent on technology and fail to develop essential skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving. In the long run, this could hinder their ability to come up with original ideas, limiting their creativity.

On the other hand, those who support the evolution of artificial intelligence argue that AI can help people finish their task instantly. The main reason for this is that AI has helped people’s task ranging from complicated task to simpler ones. For example, someone who is having problem with their task at work could just give AI a prompt and the task would be solved instantly. Therefore, the integration of AI into modern society offers advantages. Given these considerations, I would argue that AI brings more benefits than drawbacks to society, provided that people use it responsibly. Although excessive reliance on AI may weaken people’s critical thinking skills and creativity, I believe that these problems can be avoided if individuals continue to develop their own abilities rather than allowing AI to do everything for them. Ultimately, AI should be regarded as a tool that supports human development and advances human civilization, rather than a substitute for independent thinking.

In conclusion, despite its potential disadvantages, AI provides substantial benefits to society by improving efficiency and helping people perform tasks effectively.
