Band 5+: Some people believe that children should be taught how to manage money at school. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some individuals are of the opinion that teaching young students about the importance of money should be part of their curriculum of education. Personally, I totally with this perspective based on some reasons that are explained further in this essay.

There are some reasons why schools should provide lessons about money for their students. It is evident that teenagers are influenced by peer pressure, which is negatively impacts their characteristics, such as fulfilling their ego by spending large sums of money on high-value products and services. The method of educating the role of money when they are students will beneficially encourage them to gain knowledge about money value and the way to use it in an appropriate way. Furthermore, this measure not only helps them save money for achieving different purposes in the future or consume wisely but also understand the concept of money and how to invest when they are ready to make a living.

Another reason that explains why schools should be the ones that deliver financial education for young learners. School is perfectly suitable for research or studies and for that reason, we could take advantage of tutoring finance due to today’s economic crisis. Preparing for young generation for financial issues could face in their adulthood is necessary and practical as teenagers are good at being aware of what can happen will build them confidence and willingness to overcome all problems on their life path. Additionally, there is not enough to ensure children have their eyes on it due to the education of finance that school provides, I believe if families help them to fully understand finance based on reality situations or have a tutoring conversation, the impacts of school that have on teenagers will be confirmed more and more as each day passes.

In conclusion, I strongly agree on why schools have to take the responsibility of educating the young generation about finance due to the unawareness of their money and the economic crisis. Learning about money value could raise their awareness of spending money and understand the money concept for acquiring a livelihood.
