In contemporary society, the question of how children should spend their leisure time has become a subject of considerable debate. While some argue that children should experience indoor activities, others believe that outdoor activities are more effective. This essay will discuss both perspectives, although I personally believe that young people should spend their free time on outdoor recreation.
On one hand, those who support indoor pastimes argue that it provides more preparation for the youth to the digital world. This is because indoor activities such as reading and computer usage enhance their creativity and allow them to connect globally by using technology which is crucial at digital age. Furthermore, young people are able to explore many beneficial content on social media from their electronic devices. For instance, most of the younger generations spend their free time on their smartphones. However, the statistics showed that new generation youth is more likely to handle with technological issue.
On the other hand, outdoor activities ameliorate physical health. This is because outdoor pursuits offer more bodily movement, therefore children can easily exercise and gain stronger immune system. Additionally, playing outside the house enable children to meet each other and cultivate a positive community alongside. For example, parents who were born in the era which technology are less introduced, they received more practical knowledge from activities outside the house and are less likely to get illness. Personally, I am convinced that during childhood the most vital things are social skills and children should develop their health to be ready for their growth.
In conclusion, while some individuals argue that children should spend their leisure time inside the buildings for more creativity and technological abilities, I firmly maintain that young people are more valuable to participate in outdoor recreation. Ultimately, children would be able to connect effectively to the world in the future only if they started with quality childhood activities.
