Language is a tool for us to communicate and wider chances to get more opportunities for working and education. The more languages that we can speak, the more opportunities and surplus for us than other people. It can be started from primary school. Primary school is the best place to start everything step by step. For example, in first grade, they can learn basic vocabulary in a foreign language that they choose. And they can practice it while speaking to the other friends. The higher grade they are, the higher level of capabilities that they have to achieve. So, when they are in junior highschool or high school etc, they can master the language.
We can see the example of an international school in Indonesia teaching English as a foreign language. In primary school, they teach them grammar, etc. But when in junior highschool and highschool, that would not be necessary anymore because they have expected them to master it. So, at that level, the subject is not grammar anymore, but writing. It’s the higher level of English language. All the basic stuff is included in it. So when they’re applying to college and university, it can help them a lot like doing the IELTS test, TOEFl, writing an essay, a motivation letter, etc. It’s easier for them to learn it because they are used to surrounding themselves with the English language. And in the workplace, people tend to hire people that have special talents, especially having a talent that can speak more than 1 language.
We can see here that if we learn languages as early as possible, it can help us in enhancing our career and education because we are used to it since childhood. The more we are used to learn something (in this case is learning languages), the more capabilities that we have. More than that, it can help us to be more confident facing the world.
