People carry various opinions on the appropriate age a child should be enrolled in school. A significant proportion of individuals strongly encourage schooling at the initial stages of child growth, while some argue that schooling should begin at least at the age of 7. This essay will discuss both opinions before concluding with a personal viewpoint.
Schools play a pivotal role in a child’s interpersonal development. Schools encourage engagement with children of various age groups, backgrounds, and other differences at an early stage in life, introducing them to the reality of the world outside of home and fostering their collaborative skills. For example, children who have started school early show visible advancement in communication, independence, and confidence compared to children who were enrolled in school late.
On the other hand, interfering with a child’s freedom may contribute to a negative impact on their intellect. While following a timetable could benefit a child, it could also overstimulate them and therefore restrict their creativity. According to research conducted by psychology students at the University of Victoria, most people who have been brought up in a flexible environment have excelled in design-related careers.
In conclusion, my personal opinion is that while childhood is meant to be carefree, early education plays a crucial role in shaping students’ personalities.
