Band 6+: Some people believe that computers and mobile phones are harmful to children's development. Others, howerver, believe they offer benefits. Discuss both these views

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s world, children have the ability to access the internet via modern gadgets, which offer numerous chances to improve significantly study ability and personal development; thus, many individuals believe this may be one of the crucial factors supplying a myriad of benefits for teens in a fast-paced pace of life. In contrast, beside these advantages, I believe that facilitating devices inappropriately also causes an abundance of negative impacts on children’s lives, including an unhealthy habit and a risk of contracting social evils.

On the one hand, gaining valuable information and interacting through the internet are two of the prominent benefits, which are literally necessary. To start with, the internet is an efficient way to seek resources rapidly; consequently, it is crucial for learning processing. To illustrate this point, in a hectic and developed society, all beneficial information is published on the internet; hence, not only can children access curricula or lectures due to social platforms, they can also catch the latest releases published; as a consequence, this renders students’s studies more effective and gains multiple accomplishments. For instance, after attending extra classes, in order to grasp recent and upcoming lessons, a large number of inquisitive students learn actively via lessons published on the internet; almost all these lessons have the original form of prestigious websites or learning apps. Furthermore, the lesson suppliers also enfuse methods to study for their subjects meticulously. For example, while preparing for TOEIC or IELTS examinations, YouTube is a prominent app that has many whole-hearted teachers conveying the methods for IELTS or TOEIC examinations; therefore, it is obviously that learners who endeavor through learning on the internet and in person have the highest results in examinations. Secondly, using mobile phones or laptops is an efficient way to contact others, especially in emergency situations. Having a mobile phone or laptop is literally convenient for those teens and preteens. Nowadays, kidnapping, a social evil, is pervasive in many places, especially in a vibrant metropolis. Kidnappers also conspire together to catch pushovers as children. Thus, in this circumstance, a mobile phone is a sole means of communication and has the ability to stay in contact regardless of geographic distances;

On the other hand, using the internet wrongly can cause problematic issues, including an unhealthy habit involving social evils. To start with, children who are exposed to modern devices may be addicted to the internet, which exacerbates both their physical and mental health. A good case in point of this is that in this day and age, multiple games that contain inappropriate, terrifying, and perilous contents have been affecting children’s health. If their parents do not prohibit their children from playing these games, this can hinder children’s development; as a consequence, this leads to unprecedented and hazardous consequences. They are going to sustain a sedentary lifestyle, which compromises their life. This sedentary lifestyle is endemic in children now and is leaving numerous inevitable consequences, including isolation, depression, and myopia. Secondly, using these gadgets haphazardly can lead to a risk of contracting social evils. Beside prestigious news, spurious news is ubiquitous on the internet. These facticious news stories aim predominantly at children who are mostly naïve and docile. For example, a multitude of reactionary news is releasing pervasive on the internet. If children do not distuiguish what is a formal new, these thoughts and news will be imbedded in children’s minds; as a result, this leads to deviant behaviors that can negatively affect their families and society. Another prime illustration of this point is that scumbags also conspire to manipulate and misuse these children for hideous purposes, such as using drugs or human trafficking. Obviously, on the internet, these issues are easily to occur through tricks. Thus, it is really hazardous for people who are contracted to their conspiracy.

To sum up, although employing laptops and mobile phones offers many advantages, children can also be affected by the internet’s drawbacks. I believe that the internet drawbacks are imperative issues, and children can be affected by these advantages easily rather than advantages. Thus, parents should instruct their children to use their gadgets precisely to gain many achievements and skip the informal information.
