Band 7+: Some People Believe That Computers Are More a Hindrance Than a Help in Today's World. Others Feel That They Are Such Indispensable Tools That They Would Not Be Able to Live or Work Without Them

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

A section of society believes that the mainframe is necessary for daily life, while others feel it is an interference nowadays. Although the advancement of technology can help our work easier, it also has negative impacts on our lifestyle and thinking capacity. In my opinion, computers are making us lose analytical thinking and decrease the ability to solve problems.

Firstly, nowadays more and more people are dependent on online systems. Likely, children can solve their homework simply through a few clicks in google. This dramatically affects the quality of education and the ability to develop thinking of the young generations. Another problem is, our thinking and remembering are weakening when people are too reliant on computers. Unable to forecast or predict information for researching science. For example when the scientist is too dependent on memo apps, the ability to read and remember data during research practice will decrease, which leads to reduced experimental performance in the laboratory, wasting time and resources.

On the other hand, computers can make our life more convenient. We can send an email or have a conference over the desktops. We just need a few clicks. Besides, the development of digital technology also helps reduce complex processes in making government records. In Vietnam, the government has now integrated citizen’s identification cards, health insurance cards, and driving licences on the same web. This not only helps state agencies facilitate civil management but also helps citizens not need to carry many documents when going out, but instead just a phone enough.

To conclude, the advancement of new technologies is very good for human life. On the contrary, we are too dependent on them in the long run. I believe that people should always consider the side effects before using every system in our daily routine.
