Nowadays, there are different ways to educate children. Some advocates believe that letting children make their own choices, while others worry that too much freedom can lead to negative consequences. This essay will discuss both views.
The supporters of first view claim that providing full freedom to children will be beneficial because they will become more responsible in the future. For example, a child who is given the freedom to make decisions will develop personal skills such as confidence, responsibility, and the ability to make important choices. These skills are essential for personal growth and learning these skills from childhood can be useful and make future life easier. Thus, it is clear why some people gravitate towards this point of view.
Those who disagree, think that too much freedom can be harmful for children in some ways and without parent’s control they can face with difficulties make wrong choices and even appear in bad situations. For example, if parents will give a freedom to teenager it can cause serious problems like study, because the teenager can neglect studying and spend too much time on social media or video games. In the result their academic grades will get lower, which can decrease chances to get into good university and successful career. After understanding these facts it is clear why many support this claim.
In conclusion, while some think that giving independence to children will make their life better, other think that it can leads to a lot of bad consequences. In my opinion, independence should be balances with parents’ support.
