Healthcare and educational funding by government has been a pressing issue around the globe prompting various proposals to invest in public services. One suggestion is that government must invest in development of roads and airports. While this might look a good opinion, I believe that the placing investments only in specific sector requires a broader approach.
The proponents of investing the fund in healthcare and education believe that both services are basic needs and so requires more attention. Betterment of healthcare is directly related to public survival as it will reduce diseases and mortality, while better institutes will produce highly skilled individuals, which increases employment opportunities not only in the country but also globally. For example, healthcare and education is free in UK which is a developed country. Collectively, both sectors contribute to the country’s prosperity by reducing inequality between rich and poor.
However, a fraction of individuals think that country’s infrastructure deserves improvement. There is no doubt that this enhancement will definitely boost the economy as it will attract tourists and trade followed by improving business efficiency. Modern roads facilitates a smooth transport between rural and urban centers leading to better business commitments. Whereas developed airport draws attention of foreign companies and investors.
In conclusion, every sector requires funding instead of one. Government must focus on basic needs and infrastructure by equal means.
