As global warming has been officially declared as the greatest threat to Earth by United Nations, many people are still taking the term as a myth. There are countless factors that are adding to the pollution day by day due to human activities starting from the vehicle discharge to Chlroflurocarbons. The role of government is very significant in this aspect ranging from public awareness to the implementation and exceution of laws on the control of pollution.
The bare minumum that people can do is to control mosntrous traffic on roads by adopting public transport, which is to be provided by government ensuring the regularity and better accessibility to the masses. Furthermore, it provides the opportunities of jobs for the people.
On the other hand, some people think that government should invest more in road infrastructure, this possibilty or outcome cannot be denied however we have to weigh both option as to which purpose are we adopting for the implementation of the budget. Both of the ideas go hand in hand; expenditure on traffic control and betterment of infrastructure but it is upto the government as how they are executing it. The excellent example is of Singapore and the laws they have for pollution control in accordnace with better roads and transport facilities. The cars are very expensive and not affordable by everyone but better infrastructure is being used for the public transport, regulating the pollution.
By comparing both viewpoints, it is concluded that infrastructure should be promoted with public transport as the importance of any of the option cannot be nullified. The highlight is the “execution” and strict laws that provide ease to the public.
