In these contemporary times, many international governments help countries globally because they followed one type of trade. Some people believe that governments should not provide any kind of international help for other countries; they should focus on their own countries as a purpose of development. In my view, I agree with the statement that governments should focus on their own countries, not globally.
The first and foremost reason for not giving international aid is that governments should focus on domestic problems such as the employment rate, helping people who are homeless, and improving infrastructure, education, and the health system. To elaborate, firstly, governments should stop international deals and provide specific employment in their own country. Many people are homeless because they are not finding any kind of jobs. Governments should spend a large amount of money on education and health. For instance, China followed its own system in such areas as education and infrastructure. Chinese schools provide proper practical education for primary schools. China has one of the fastest-developed infrastructures as compared to other countries.
Another striking reason is that governments should maintain economic stability. To be more precise, governments should increase import taxes. Governments encourage local industries because foreign goods become expensive and increase the demand for local products; that directly impacts the country’s economy. For example, India is trying to build an independent country; this country focuses only on locally produced products as compared to foreign items. Local products’ prices are very low because the products are made in their own country. People easily buy cheap products for various uses.
Alternatively, governments use international aid as a relation; it improves trade relations and political influence. Some products are not made in one’s own country, then the products are imported from other countries such as oil and natural resources.
To conclude, governments should focus on their own country because it is helpful to improve the country’s economy and infrastructure. Governments should spend their money on domestic problems. They should maintain economic stability.
