In recent years, it is believed that pupils should not be made to do homework. However, I strongly disagree with the statement due to two main reasons, which will be further discussed in this essay.
To begin with, one of the benefits of doing home-assignment is boosting school children’s classroom learning. When completing homework every night, learners can review and pratise what they have learned in class. These knowledge may become a part of their long-term memory. For example, when doing English exercise at home, pupils can better understand sentence structures and expand their vocabulary range. As a result, they can comprehend new concepts in next lessons faster and more easily, which may help them to have high academic performance. If school children do not have homework, they will come to classroom unprepared the following day. Therefore, they may find it difficult to understand new material. For this reason, doing homework can help pupils improve the efficiency of their learning.
Another point to consider is that doing homework can help school childen develop essential skills. In fact, students may have a chance to organise their work while completing their home-assignment. This can contribute to ensure that all the task are completed during the day, which may encourage independent thinking, problem-solving and time management skills. For instance, the completion of homework on a daily basis usually brings several benefits to Japanese students. It can help them develop independent study habits and learn how to manage their time effectively at an early age. In addition, doing homework can help pupils acquire work-related skills which may provide a competitive advantage later in life when they apply for a job. That is why doing homework can help school children improve important skills needed for study and work.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that assigning homework to pupils is necessary because it can bring several benefits to them, including improving their classroom learning and developing essential skills such as time management, problem-solving, and so on.
