While some people think that children who are suspected in crimes should be punished, others argue that parents should take responsibility and be punished. Both points of view have their arguments, which are discussed below.
On the one hand, there are several arguments in favor of the fact that it is more desirable to give the responsibility of punishment for parents, not children. Firstly, children and teenagers are not a grown man yet. They are more emotional, more fragile, and they can make more mistakes; hence, it makes sense for parents to take responsibility of punishment and teach their kids what they can do and what they cannot. Secondly, parents are more mature than children: While children may take punishment as a humiliation, parents can understand it and react more neutrally.
On the other hand, there are also a couple of advantages of punishing children themselves. Direct punishment of children gives them an understanding of what they can do, and what they cannot. Later, it gives them awareness and helps to improve their matureness and decrease emotion factors. For instance, if a kid robbed an item from a grocery shop will not have any punishment; however, their parents would take his responsibility, it will led to misunderstanding: A kid who robbed that item can think that he can commit in a crime again and will not be punished any way. Consequently, sometimes it is significant to punish children.
In conclusion, both sides have their pros and cons; however, in my opinion, it is more desirable to give a punishment for children, rather than to their parents.
