It is argued that keeping healthy lifestyle is a responsibility for individuals as well as our governments. I completely disagree with the opinion that government should be accountable for individual’s choice of keeping healthy lifestyle or not.
Firstly, I believe that maintaining health and diet is a choice that individual person makes for themselves. While some people want to keep fit, other might not want to do so. They can have exercises time to time and have good meals that can benefit their health. But as a member of independent person in a community they are entitled with choice to do so. For example, one can suffer from health issues that can direct him to change into healthier lifestyle, while other who don’t face any health-related issues with their unhealthy lifestyle. In that case, they may not face obligation towards healthier choices.
Secondly, there’s government, who can help the people who want to keep their lifestyle healthy by ensuring amenities and food options. But they should not enforce the situation on the society as they can create mass disappointment towards them. They can provide with choices only if there’s any kind of data suggests mass population demands for it. If keeping healthy is a choice made by individuals, not by the society, then the government should stay out of it and let them maintain in their own way. While others, who don’t want to stay healthy, keep their own lifestyle unobstructed. Thus, the social harmony is undisrupted.
To conclude, keeping healthy lifestyle and dietary choice really falls into the individual who like to do so. All government can is to help them if they, as a mass, require one. Other than that enforcing healthy lifestyle and food option is not a good idea for any governments unless the mass people wants it.
