Good health is essential to live a long and happy life. There is an ongoing debate on who should be responsible for an individual’s health. Some people argue that the government should take necessary measurements to ensure public health and some believe that an individual should be responsible for their own health. This essay will address both sides, though I personally believe in the latter.
Our personal lives affect our health more than anything, starting from the foods that we eat, how much we eat and how active our lives are. Our well being is determined by the small actions that we take everyday. So if we start eating too much we might develop diseases such as coronary blocks and diabetes; if we don’t move enough we might gain a lot of fat that will make everything life more difficult to do; if we don’t exercise we’ll start to lose muscle that can make even basic things like walking a daunting task.
On the other hand the government also plays a crucial role in health and well-being. The government should put policies that remove highly processed foods from the market that are harmful for our health and should start campaigns where healthier foods and an active life is promoted. They should also focus on infrastructure that makes it easier for people to pursue a healthier life by making more parks, bike lanes and grounds.
In conclusion, we should always take charge of our health for our well being. Government support is crucial and pivotal for this happen but personal accountability is the key to achieving success.
