Switching jobs or working for one company is a highly debated topic.While some advocate that individuals should work for one organisation for a long time, others contend that switching jobs frequently is better in the long run. This essay will discuss both views before presenting my opinion.
There are many individuals that are affiliated with a single company for many years. With years of experience in the same organisation, it helps them to understand business models and market trends better than any other employee. For instance, many individuals become leaders and managers due the fact that they have more and better experience than any other employee. These individuals go on to beocme experts in their relative fields and lead the organisation. Nevertheless, working for the same organisation might make few people complacent as there are no new challenges to conquer, further affecting their professional performance.
On the other hand, constant job changing would help people to work in new environment and face new challenges. It allows individuals to find latest problems and find appropriate solutions. For example, software engineers who often switch jobs, work with latest technologies and tools used in the organisation. This helps the engineers to broaden their domain, further assisting them to gain knowledge and staying up to date with latest tools. Such engineers are highly employable as they have experience in wide range of technology. Although, these engineers lack mastery in their respective fields as they have spent relatively less amount of time.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that one must switch jobs in search for better opportunities and positions. By doing so, it makes them highly employable and helps them in becoming better professonials.
