Band 4+: some people believe that it is fairer to assess a student's ability based on their performance during the whole course rather than giving a formal examination at the end of the course. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Several people think it is acceptable to conduct the student’s abilities assessment (based on performance indicator) on all courses they learnt than just solely rely on final exam test at the end of the program. Particularly, I agree to this statement in some condition which I included in this essay.

At first, a purpose in organise the assessment is to prevent over anxious feeling that commonly happen before the test. By this means students will acustomised with the informal test as long as the system employed, it can also erect the individual precaution to the exam preparation. This attempt perpetuate a respectful behaviour toward the goal completion of each student and indirectly shaping the competition.

In addition, student will have a not-to-cheat paradigm for it is useless regarding to the test, they do that for the subject is still fresh in their memory. The more they face the test the more reliable the result. Emotionally, this will boost the mood and passion to keep learning. The way the student see the test is likely to be different and lower the anxious level.

In conclusion, if student should face this type of exam I believe it brings more benefit and easily create a habit overcoming the challenges.
