Band 5+: Some people believe that it is the responsibility of parents to teach good manners to their children and others believe that this must be the responsibility of the teachers. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is often argued by some people that parents should take the responsibility of teaching good manners to children as they spend more time with them. Meanwhile other argued that schools should take off this responsibility as they have more authority over children. This essay will explore both sides of the argument before reaching a logical opinion.

On the one hand, the supporters of parent responsibility believe that they tend to spend more time with the children. As children spend on average 10-15 hours with their parents, especially during the first ten years.take an example of middle Eastern culture where parents are considered the soul responsible for development of child’s character. Thus, parents indeed have an important part to play in the development of a child.

While on the other hand, the advocates of schools responsibility believe that teachers have moral authority and children tend to listen to them. For instance, Emma Watson, a leading Hollywood star, ince attributed her groomed personality to the efforts of a teacher during her school days. Hence schools should also take up this responsibility.

However, I believe that parents and schools should work together to make a child a active member of society. As this approach would not only utilize time effectively but also would allow parents to use authority.

To sum up, in order to groom a child personality for the betterment of society. Parents and educational institutions should work closely together.
