It is argued by some individuals that it is the sole responsibility of parents to teach their offsprings to be a respectful person of community. However, other believes that it is the role of the school to teach their students about morals and ethics of life. In my perspective, both the factors plays a crucial role behind a child success.
On the one side, children are raised by their parents and therefore should be taught basic manners such as respect and responsibility. This is because their actions will reflect upon their families. Also, adults set a good example for the youngsters and be a positive role model. Moreover, there are many cultures, values and traditions. This means that every family should educate their child on their beliefs, in order to instil values and keep the traditions going.
On the flip side, schools are institutions where children go to gain knowledge. This is where they should learn societal values and social skills, allowing them to be a good members of society and know how to communicate with others from different backgrounds. For instance, students have opportunities to connect with others during events and activities. This encourage students to be more open minded and learn to communicate with people from different backgrounds and ethnicities. Schools provide formal education on citizenship, ethics and social responsibility.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that the collective role of schools and parents can shape a bright future for youngsters. They should be taught basic values and manners by their families but school should also help them to flourish in their academics.
