In recent years there has been a debate about who should contribute to maintaining balanced life routine. Some people believe that it is the responsibility of the government to invest in and improve standards of living whereas some argue that, to achieve this, every individual should take ownership. I strongly believe that stricter laws and efforts from people are required for healthier lifestyle. This essay discusses both perspectives and provides my own opinion.
It is undoubtedly the responsibility of the government to develop regulations and invest in areas which results in better life standards. This is because the government authorities can work in large scale to develop ideas which otherwise difficult to be achieved by a common man. For example, government officials can initiate, invest and run a campaign across the country and spread awareness about how to keep common areas clean. Such campaigns have wider reach for the audience compared to actions taken on individual levels. This results in cleaner cities, roads and healthy environment.
On the other hand, it is inevitable that every person is responsible and should contribute to society in a way to achieve healthy lifestyle. Without efforts on an individual level, authorities cannot implement effective rules. For instance, proper waste segregation and disposal is essential for sustainable environment which starts from individual households. Additionally, religiously following the government implemented rules improve the way we live.
In conclusion, while it is important for the government to work on larger scale, it is essential for everyone to work on ground. Having a balanced approach would lead to overall well-being.
