It is believed that engaging in sport helps the elderly maintain a good health condition. However, another group claims that certain other methods exist that are potentially better. While doing exercises constantly may improve one’s health, I think that other ways like having a healthy diet plays more role in staying healthy.
Sport enhances people’s health that is already in a good condition. Specifically, individuals with some level of prior physical preparadness are able to do sports, while others who are unable to do activities are left without this opportunity. For example, regular jogging in the mornings may improve someone’s health, but those who have bone-related health problems, which are common among older generations, cannot take advantage of this activity. As a result, those who could run become healthier, but others remain in their previous state.
Although sport is not a part of everyone’s daily rountine, eating is what all humans do in order to live. Because what we consume constitues our health, elderly people may stay healthy through making positive changes to their diets. Accroding to the Wolrd Health Organisation(WHO), even a minor reduction in sugar intake may help those aged over 50 avoid serious illnesses like diabeties, which is a reason for death of thousands per year. Consequently, controlling what somebody eats makes more contirbution to their well-being than being envolved in sport.
In conclusion, although constantly doing physical exercises ensures imrpoved health conditions, it is not suitable for all senior citizens. Thus, choosing other ways of being healthy such as changing one’s diet brings more benefit than opting for sport.
