People hold different views on whether online shopping will ultimately dominate over brick-and-mortar stores in the future. While it can prove to be convenient and provide necessary data about the product, I agree that physical stores would be absolutely better in terms of speed and quality.
There are those who argue that online purchases will replace shopping in person. The core of this argument is that it is incredibly convenient. In other words, customers can not only buy almost anything they want just by connecting to the Internet, but also enjoy the twenty-four-seven opened online shops, regardless where and how busy they are. Moreover, another equally important cause of their belief is that it enables consumers to access information about the product easily. This means that people can read detailed descriptions, other shopper’s reviews and alternative recommendations. Consequently, these facilities avoid
unwanted surprises that cost individuals time, money and headaches when the product arrives.
On the other hand, I side with those who believe that there are numerous reasons why shopping in person will still hold their grounds. First and foremost, unlike online purchases, shopping from physical stores does not require long waiting times. In the situations where you are in a hurry and have to buy something right away such as gifts, going to brick-and-mortar shops would be the ideal option instead of waiting for days, weeks or even longer than expected. Additionally, it is also worth noting that in-person shopping provides the opportunity to use or wear the item you purchased right away. When shopping online, however, it is totally uncertain whether the item will meet customer’s demand or live up to their expectations.
In conclusion, although the majority of people think that the purchasing online will eventually surpass the physical stores, I am firmly convinced that they will still have their own merits and are fully necessary for individuals due to the reasons mentioned.
