Many individuals argue that regional dialects and accents should be preserved, while others think that communicating in one standard national language is significant. This essay discusses both advantages and disadvantages of preserving regional languages. Personally, I believe in maintaining regional accents and encouraging people to speak the language and carry forward it to generations.
Regional languages should be promoted and people should speak their own language. Each region has specific dialects and they have been created a long time ago, based on their cultural practices. To understand and sustain the culture and traditions, we should continue speaking in our own language. Moreover, individuals believe that speaking a native language is paying respect to their elders.
There are many advantages of speaking regional languages. For example, great historical books are in the regional languages, to read and understand the history, and to gain knowledge from those books, one should know how to read the language. Additionally, I believe regional languages have been formed before our birth; one should respect and continue to practise and promote the language to the future generations.
Communication is key. Speaking in one national language can remove language barriers among multiple regions. They can communicate freely by exchanging their views and thoughts. Practising one standard speech can increase tourism of the country. It helps foreigners to travel and understand others’ cultural heritage. For example, travelling to a foreign country like America would not be a challenging task, as they speak one language such as English. We can travel to any corner of the USA and can communicate effectively.
