There is an ongoing debate about whether teachers have a greater influence than parents on a child’s academic success. However, I strongly believe that although parents play a significant role in many aspects of their children’s lives, teacher generally have a greater influence on academic success, as they spend more time with children and have better knowledge of academic subjects.
On the one hand, some people argue that in comparison with the teachers, parents act as a primarily influencer on their children’s academic success rather than teachers. Parents are the main emotional supporters of their children whose can inspired them in harsh conditions during their studies. for example, during my brother’s school he was in a terrible circumstance because of failing in many subjects and had no ambition to start again and fight for my future, at that time, my parents encouraged him to pursue his studies until being a doctor and help people to cure from their disease.
On the other hand, I believe that teachers must be considered as a dominate persons who affects children’s successfully in academic environment so seriously. First, teachers spent much more time with children which leads to giving them more knowledge for learning subjects. More importantly, teachers are experts at schools’ subjects, which parents do not, and can help children to learn problem-solving or critical thinking. For instance, I had a chemistry teacher at school named mr jafai , as a mater of fact, he shaped my interest to chemistry and always encouraged me to follow my dream in science, he was so patient and never feel embarrassed us for asking questions. Nowadays, I am a successful chemist in university and owe many of my passion to science to him. As a result, I strongly believe that here is a meaningful connection between successfulness of child and teachers.
In conclusion, while parents act as very important persons in our lives, but regarding in academic achievements, teachers play a significant role rather than parents.
