There is a heated controversy over the technological impact of whether it is harmful or beneficial. While a few people believe that innovative methods make the educational experience better and more efficient, others claim that usual methods of teaching may be distracted and hindered by contemporary technologies.
On the one hand, proponents claim that new technological ways of teaching are advantageous due to engagement during the lessons. It is true that new methods make lessons fascinating as well as more effective. This is on the grounds that modern ways of teaching are developed as well as created with the help of personal psychology awareness. Lessons which are held with their assistance will induce the students to think and improves their critical thinking ability. So, they can deliver their thoughts directly.
On the other hand, the opponents argue that contemporary methods may distract and impede the regular ways of teaching. Due to high-resource demand, students can experience trouble of inequality because of diverse accesses, which might cause a problem of inequality among students. Secondly, since people are used to traditional ways of studying, new technologies are unlikely to be trusted by many a parent. So, it causes hesitation among adults. Last but not least, if modern methods come up, teachers should be aware of it. So they have to learn all about methods, which is tough and time-consuming.
In my point of view, it can be both advantageous as well as disadvantageous based on the situation. On the one hand, it is crucial for collaboration skills, since it usually requires teamwork, which not only improves social capacity but also increases the level of confidence. On the other hand, the instructors might have some assessment difficulties, while evaluating students’ work.
To sum up, while opinions regarding the impact of technology on education vary, I still believe that it usually depends on the exact situation that students are in.
