Although some people argue that technology harms students’ learning, others claim it significantly improves education. I strongly agree with the latter view, as modern tools make education accessible worldwide, whereas excessive limitations on technology may cause students to miss essential knowledge.
First of all, many people worry that relying on technology may negatively affect students’ abilities. They argue that constant use of digital tools can reduce attention span, lower critical-thinking skills, or even weaken memory because learners depend on instant answers. For example, some studies suggest that students who overuse tablets may struggle to focus during complex problem-solving tasks. This point of view is understandable, but it overlooks the positive impact of well-designed technology. On the other hand, I believe that technology plays a crucial role in improving modern education. Firstly, digital platforms provide access to high-quality lessons, courses, and materials for millions of students around the world, including those who cannot attend traditional classrooms. Secondly, technology allows learners to study at their own pace, revisit difficult topics, and use interactive tools that make complex ideas easier to understand. For instance, international platforms such as Khan Academy or Coursera help millions of students master subjects that were previously unavailable to them. Therefore, technology not only supports learning but also makes education more equal and effective.
To conclude, although some people fear that technology may reduce students’ academic abilities, I believe its advantages clearly outweigh the drawbacks. By providing global access to education and supporting individual learning needs, technology significantly enhances the overall quality of modern education.
