On the one hand, people highlighting that high school students should concentrate on all school subjects have their own valids. The most noticeable reason for this viewpoint is that an extensive school curriculum provides general knowledge about different fields of real life. For example, having knowledge about biology can be pretty helpful when people need to deal with some common diseases. Similarly, having a foreign language ability can be an advantage when students do scientific researches which are mostly written in English. Furthermore, the exposer to all subjects can help students to explore more about their strengths and weaknesses. By deeply understanding about them, students can have clear orientations about their future careers. For instance, a student find himself gifted in literature can choose to become a journalist. Or if an individual find himself competented at mathematics, he can choose to become a data analysis expert or an IT.
On the other hand, it is reasonable to believe that students should place an priority on particular subjects. One of the most significant evidence is that a school curriculum concentrating on a certain number of subjects alleviate pressure on students. This is because they will have more time for entertainment, doing exercise which are good for their both mental and physical health. Students can also allocate more time socializing to improve some useful lifeskills such as interpersonal skill and communication skills. All of these lead to a comprehensive development. Furthermore, the concentration on a specific field is in line with the intensive research on that field, students can complete courses soon and become an expert in that field.
In conclusion, I acknowledge that both notions about academic contents at high school mentioned above are rational. One balance, I think each students should take their own purposes, upsides and academic performances into account to get suitable options.
