Some people argue that university education plays an essential role in helping people obtain highly qualified jobs, whereas others think that educational instituations offer much wider benefits than simply preparing for employment. This essay will discuss both views. I believe that universities not only prepare students for better jobs, but also help them develop their knowledge and personal growth.
On the one hand, some people consider the primary purpose of university education is to help students find better and valued professions after graduation. Especially, nowadays most of the well-paid positions demand applicants to hold university degree. This is because students acquire valuable knowledge and practical skills during their studies which increase their chances of getting highly qualified employement.
On the other hand, others believe that studying in university provides with wider opportunities rather than just ending up looking for better job positions after graduation. First of all, many universities help students to become independet and teach them to become more responsible for their duties. Basically, for students who live in dormitories, they learn how to deal with homesickness problem. Furthemore, in educational instituations students are able to attend variety of activities that will help them to develop their other hidden talents and lead people to have a character development.
In my opinion although getting a good job is a main reason why people attend universities, the value of education should not be measured by only being employements, the fact that developing their knowledge and skills are equally importans as the desire for better jobs.
