Nowadays many people are interested in setting up their own business and becoming an entrepreneur. Thus, they have different opinions about the best way to gain business knowledge. Some people assume that formal education is the best approach to learn how businesses operate. While others disagree and argue that there are other ways to study entrepreneurship. I agree with the second opinion.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why people consider formal education worthwhile. Firstly, at university students have strict curriculum which contains many different subjects. Such approach allows students to get well-rounded education and build strong theoretical foundation. These knowledge will be an asset for every entrepreneur. Secondly, at universities people can do networking. They could build strong bonds with other students and even professors. Later it could stand them in good stead in their future career.
On the other hand, some people believe that education at universities is not the best approach for future entrepreneurs to become successful in business. According to their opinion it is better to get hands-on experience and learn from their own mistakes. I agree with this point of view. I consider formal education in business could be irrelevant nowadays, especially in IT industry. At first, our world changes so quickly that information in student books is usually outdated. So that, knowledge that students gain from books could lose its value. While the experience that you gain from working in industry is always relevant and updated. Moreover, people do not need to splash out on many different subjects as they do at universities. They can focus on their field of studies and work on them. Such way they will gain the best skill set for their business.
In conclusion, I believe that practical experience is more valuable for entrepreneurs nowadays. However, there are different opinions and this question is still controversial. Thus, every person should find their own best approach to studying business depending on their goals and abilities.
