Today, some people claim that the most efficient way to create a happy nation is to reduce the income barrier of society. This essay strongly agrees with this suggestion for several reasons.
The first point given to support my opinion is that lowering the gap between the rich and the poor can prevent people from severe famine and other diseases that the poor are more likely to suffer such as diarrhea. This improvement occurs because as removing the income barrier helps improving living standard of a country. For instance, India, which has the most obvious contrast between high-income and low-income people, often experiences serious epidemic and therefore leads to the insufficient of medicines and drugs. This reason explains why I think that a country should lower its income barrier in order to produce a happy society
Another reason behind my belief is that removing the income inequality helps reducing the risks of population explosion in big cities and thereby decrease the rate of illegal immigrants. This is due to the fact that rural inhabitants are ensured to earn enough income for their lives so that they do not have to move to towns to look for jobs. China, for instance, has the highest population focused on large cities and this leads to overpopulation problems. Therefore, I firmly believe that reducing the gap between the rich and the poor is the best way to build a happier society.
In conclusion, I totally agree with the view that the government should lower the income inequality to create a better society because it will reduce the risk of potential diseases as well as overpopulation.
