Every generation has a right to receive social welfare from the government. However, I still believe that they should focus more on children, which doesn’t mean ignoring the elder. In this essay, tangible evidence and examples will be mentioned to support my perspectives.
First and foremost, the younger generation is always the main object of developing our countries. Therefore, the investment for children should be prioritized to equip them with enough knowledge and practical skills to contribute to the prosperity of the nation in various fields. For instance, the educational authorities put forward the policy about the privileges of specialized schools’ students, such as subsidies per month, scholarships, upgraded facilities, free dormitories, etc. As a result, the improvement of the quality of students and the enhancement of social life, as well as the country’s economy, occur side by side. Additionally, investing in children means consolidating labor force of the future. This can minimize the state of unemployment and being laid off, which are the underlying causes of low GDP index and the poverty of socials.
However, governments also take responsibility for the elders, as they were also contributors to the country in the past, creating a premise for the following generations to move on. Apart from providing subsidies for the elderly or paying pensions, the government should also invest in nursing homes or open free medical examination services for the elderly.
In conclusion, all generations are parts of society, and they all devote to the country’s development if possible. So everyone deserves respect and benefits from the government, whereas children are still the ones who should be given more attention because they are the future labor force who create the financial resources for government spending.
