These days, it is believed that governments should allocate financial resources for the care of the elderly, while others think that the education of young generation should be prioritised.From my perspective, both previous and next generation deserve to receive fair investment from government.
On the one hand, government need to spend money on the care of the old generation of their country.These people who spent their youth and effort on building their country and its economy in order to make it better for the next generation. Therefore, the elderly should be prioritised expenditure on social welfare such pension , health insurance, free health check-up when they retire.Furthermore, elderly people will have to suffer from several ailments , especially chronic diseases,which is why they need to have more money for medical bills.Government subsidies may alleviate the great burden placed on family members of the elderly , especially tax-payers.
On the other hand, the needs of the younger generation of a country are still as essential as those of the elderly.Young people will be the backbone of a country’s economy , so government must invest in their health as well as their education to ensure that they will be equipped with knowledge, skills for the future.Moreover, another reason is that adolescent should be provided with basic moral lessons which teach them how to distinguish right from wrong as well as respect and maintain essential values.As a result, young generation have ability to know and think appropriately with a view to building a developed society and decreasing crime rate.
In conclusion, I believe that governments need to focus equally on the younger and older generations, however it is the equal responsibility of governments, parents, families, and communities to ensure that young and old are both looked after.
