It is a common belief that artificial intelligence will diminish human labor and their effort. However, there is a more persuasive argument that artificial intelligence must not be reallocated with every job and labor. The reason is that artificial intelligence technology is still considered a disorganized technology and can cause rapid unemployment.
On the other hand, artificial intelligence can be useful when dealing with simple tasks such as calculation and accounting. When artificial intelligence is asked to resolve a complex math problem, in most cases they would be able to solve it in three seconds while humans mostly would take up more than five minutes. A research team from MIT revealed that AI was more efficient than 1323 accountants out of 1350 and showed accuracy of 99%.
Nevertheless, I support the idea that providing formidable tasks from every field can be a risky challenge. Assuming an AI is flying an airplane, when an emergency occurs, it might be frustrating when I can’t stop the situation with their data while human pilots possibly can solve it with their sense of feelings. For instance, according to the SNU society research team, 72% of people replied that AI is still unstabilized and it is still unreliable to be replaced with humans.
To sum up, while it is apparent that AIs are capable in accounting and solving simple math equations, they still lack the ability to obtain people’s emotion and sense of feelings that is necessary for certain jobs. The development of technology is inevitable but obeying them is a completely different story.
