There is no denying the fact that the use of technology nowadays is crucial. While it is a commonly held belief that technology improves learning experiences, there is also an argument that it can also lead to distractions and a lack of critical thinking skills. This essay will analyze this topic from both points of view and express my opinion.
On one hand, technology can lead to an increase in knowledge. In other words, by using the internet, one will get more information easier and faster than using other sources. In addition, the internet is a free tool to use. For example, these days, each classroom includes more than one device, such as a projector, to increase students’ focus on the lessons by adding fun visuals.
On the other hand, technology can cause distractions. It is also possible to say that technology can be a useless and harmful tool in education, and it may lead to boredom and loss of focus for some students. Moreover, students might depend only on technology, and this will lead to a lack of critical thinking skills. For example, students use the internet to solve their assignments and to create their projects. In conclusion, there is no easy answer to this question. On balance, however, I tend to believe that technology is a hugely important tool to be used in a variety of ways and it has both positives and negatives; however, using it in education will absolutely enhance the learning experiences and add more joyful touch to teaching methods.
