Many people have an idea that making a profit is the main purpose of businesses, while others believe they also have responsibilities to society beyond making money. This paper will discuss both views and state my opinion.
The growth of the economic system is what I consider a crucial factor. It cannot be denied that if businesses acknowledge that generating revenue is their goal, there is a high chance that they can increase their financial returns. As a result, the business will grow rapidly. On account of this, they will pay higher taxes and more investors want to invest in the business, including foreign investors. Eventually, this probably gives rise to the economic system of the country.
On the other hand, business sustainability is also worth considering. Beyond making money, if companies also take responsibility for society, they can enhance their social impact. Thanks to this, they can have stronger community ties and improve their public image. Moreover, this makes it possible for the business to achieve long-term sustainability based on social power.
In my opinion, both actions are important and necessary for business, society, and the economic system. Businesses should even be between making a profit and showing responsibility to society. Therefore, they can maintain their sustainability and still make the most profitable.
