Some people think about the purpose of education which should help individuals become beneficial for society, however others believe fulfilling personal desires is the reason of education. This essay includes both outlooks and why purpose of education is about balance of both perspectives.
Many people suppose the meaning of education as being independent from community and stand by own point of view and ambitions. There is an understanding that education fosters creativity, self sufficiency, adding critical thinking. Being self sufficient means, having the right to stick to their own principles and opinions. For example, communities settle to one opinion, meanwhile, individuals have the right to speak up their own beliefs and standing by them.
However, education equips learners with knowledge and access to be effective in society. From young ages, people are taught how to interact with others respectfully, adding the following reason to solve problems with less difficulties. For instance, doctors, teachers and engineers challenge different responsibilities to correspond peoples’ demands. Another reason is that society functions smoother when citizens are educated well to support social stability and economic prosperity. If everyone would act by their own rules, chaos would rule the world, because not every humans belief would suit the rules. That is why citizens have to obey one perspective and take action by it.
In my opinion, a balanced approach is perfect. Education should not be about serving either social needs or personal aspirations exclusively. Instead, it should aim to improve individuals who are both socially and personally responsible. When people are educated in a way that aligns with their principles and talents, they are most likely to become inventive and inspired.
Concluding, both sights feature important goals of education: contributing culture and succeeding in person. Effective education system should strive to combine both purposes, allowing individuals to flourish personally, also, benefiting the community.
