It is often argued that wealthy individuals should donate their money to charity, while some people believe that they have the right to spend their money however they desire. This essay will explain both perspectives

On the one hand, wealthiest people should prioritize donating their money to charity because it helps address social inequality and a risk of criminalities. In this way, financial support significantly helps improve the well-being of poor people by subsidizing education fees, building better households, and providing them with good food, leading to reducing the risk of criminalities and fostering people’s quality of life. For example, when wealthy people allocate their funds to help orphans, those children tend to have better quality of life and higher education, allowing them to develop knowledge and skills necessary for their future career. Consequently, the crime rate may decrease because people have access to proper education which enables them to support themselves financially. As a result, wealthier individuals should provide financial support to poorer people as it fosters quality of life and reduces a crime rate.

On the other hand, people should have the freedom to spend their money on personal purposes and preferences, as long as they obtain their income legally. This is because people work hard to achieve life goals, such as travelling to dream destinations and purchasing luxurious houses and cars. For example, a successful entrepreneur in the United States may dream of traveling to visit the wreckage of the Titanic in a submarine, an experience that can cost millions of dollars. They should have freedom to achieve their bucket list without feeling guilty about their hard-earned money. Consequently, people should be free to spend their money however they desire in order to pursue happiness and fulfil life.

In conclusion, while donating money to help poor people is necessary as it improves their quality of life and meets their basic needs, allowing wealthy people to spend their hard-earned money on personal purposes should be done without feeling guilty.

Thanks to the development of global media, people in different countries can now watch the same movies, fashion trends, brands, and advertisements. To what extent do you think the disadvantages of this trend outweigh the advantages?

In contemporary society, many countries across the world have similarities among them. They tend to follow similar trends such as fashion, and watch same films, TV channels, which is the result of globalisation. Although people from different countries can find common interests and communicate more easily, I believe the disadvantages of not preserving customs and […]
