Many people argue that taxes should not be deducted from their income and that the government should allow them to keep all of their earnings. However, I strongly disagree with this point of view because taxation is essential for maintaining public services, funding welfare programs, and developing infrastructure.
Firstly, taxation plays a crucial role in improving public services such as roads, hospitals, and public schools. Individuals who cannot afford private education have the option to enroll in public schools and colleges that are funded by tax money. Moreover, cancer treatment is extremely expensive, and many people struggle to afford it. In various countries, tax-funded cancer hospitals provide free or affordable treatment to those in need. For instance, in many tax-paying nations, numerous public hospitals offer free medical services to patients, all funded by tax revenue.
Furthermore, taxation funds welfare programs that support unemployed individuals by providing them with financial assistance for basic necessities such as food and clothing. In addition, governments in some countries offer financial aid to help people get married. Tax money is also used to support deserving students by providing them with laptops and other educational resources, ensuring that financial constraints do not force them to abandon their studies. For example, in Pakistan, public colleges not only provide free education but also supply students with free uniforms and stationery.
In conclusion, taxation is a necessary component of a well-functioning society. Although individuals may experience a small deduction from their income, the benefits it brings to society far outweigh the drawbacks. Tax revenue helps improve public services, supports welfare programs, and ensures infrastructure development, ultimately contributing to the well-being of the entire country. Therefore, I firmly believe that people should continue paying taxes for the greater good of society.
