It is argued that students should pay for their higher education by their own, because it is beneficial only for them rather than governments and whole nations. I firmly disagree with this view because having high-classified specialists can lead to the rising of nations’ economy. Moreover, if higher education available only for rich individuals, it will lead to the social inequality.
The main reason why governments should provide free higher education to residents is its impact on economic progress. As an example, one of the countries with high economy is German, and key for their success is educated residents. By proving free, quality, high education to students, the governments obtain high-educated workers who will have huge impact on the raising of country economy. Specifically, it Is known that German produce one of the best automobiles in the word and to create cars they need to have educated workers. Instead of finding this high-classified specialists in the world, they can easily take it from the local universities. Shortly, free education is key to the development of the countries.
Moreover, if governments do not provide free education, it will lead to the social inequality. To explain, in case nations has a paid education, only students from rich family will study at universities or students from poor family will study only if they take a credit to pay for it. Students who cannot pay for education will go to work in menial work despite their knowledge. As a result, it led to the social inequality. In my point of view higher education should be opportunity to for everyone, not a privilege of the rich.
