In today’s contemporary era, numerous people move towards cities called urbanization, this movement is increasing day by day, that not only impacts society but also environment as well. Some people contend that it creates certain obstacles, such as environmental degradation and social inequality. While others believe it also improves economy and transportation services. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my opinion which will be in favour of its negeative effects on individuals.
On the one hand, individuals who support urbanization have their own merits. Firstly, due to rapid shift from countryside to cities, transporation services are changing. Unemployed and less educated get opportunities to work. People’s lifestyles are improving and they are living luxurius and comfortable life in megacities. For instance, villagers now not only bound to do agricultural and labour work.
On the other hand, those who are against urbanization have their own points. To begin with, because more youngsters are shifting towards citisides, there are few individuals left over villages. This may create strain on agriculture system, as less folk, less hard work, less crops. To resolve this, government has to invest more on machinery and on landfills that affests the economy. Moreover, inflation will cause more slum area, strain infrastructure and detrimental effect on climate. To illustrate this, extreme people utilise limitless natural resources, which not only increases toxic fumes in the environment but also lead to their scarcity.
To conclude, although urbanization assist in maintaing better services and economic growth, too much inflation on one side will ultimately create imbalance in geographic areas. Limitation in urbanization is necessary at certaint point.
