A number of people argue that the teachers’ main focus should be on students’ academics rather than motivating them. Although I agree that focusing on academics plays a pivotal role, I assume that giving motivation to students is more crucial for the benefit of studying.
On the one hand, doing an accent on academics is the crucial part of studying. Pupils should have a strict head on them and their current marks while preparing for the essential exams, group projects due to the quality and effectiveness of the process. In order to pass with a high score on your exam or win a competition, students should have their pedagogues’ proper attention and notes. For instance, students can effectively study without any motivation, having a strong attention and discipline. That is why teachers should adequately focus on academics.
On the other hand, motivation should not be an unnecessary part of the education process. Firstly, motivation from educators can beneficially support pupils’ failures or misunderstandings. Since students definitely respect and value their teacher, it can play a pivotal role in their academics. Moreover, students are not AI or robots. They can face unexpectable burnout at any time during their education that can unfortunately lower their marks and scores. Consequently, motivation should also have a place in the education process.
To conclude, though I agree that tutors definitely should focus on academics more, according to my way of thinking, teachers should focus on motivation also since it can improve pupils’ development and be beneficial to their mental health and happiness.
