In this day and age, there are some jobs with ridiculously high payment but bring no advantage to public, whereas workers with low income or even no pay have a handsome influence over the community. Moreover, some people argue that the social contribution of individuals should be represented through their worthy wage. Although I agree that salaries are the mirror of dedication, I still believe that any job in the world have its own value.
In fact, there are well-paid jobs indirectly contributed to society that people unintentionally forget, which lead to the misunderstanding of the thing that many jobs have no impact on the society. For instance, scientists in the fields of physics, biology or nuclear researchers devote their intelligence and youth to discovering new things that are helpful for communities. An example of this instance is the COVID-19 vaccines. As many countries around the world met lots of problems due to the COVID-19 epidemic, scientists around the world have found different types of vaccines which help prevent civilians from the disease and promote the economy after a long period of social distancing. In addition, jobs with lower remuneration are usually manual labors and the ones that are obviously possible to be replaced by advanced technologies, such as sanitation workers and factory workers.
On the other hand, governments should have better compensation for affairs that are of great importance to societies and nations since many people dedicate a lot to their country but receive nothing well-deserved. Take preschool teachers as an example. In Vietnam, a model preschool teacher has an income of no more 5 million VND per month, which is extremely low compared to an average teacher’s salary. However, what they have to do is no different than a nanny, not to mention the cost of studying to become a preschool teacher is not a reasonable price. Therefore, a good salary not only depend on the significance of job but also should be considered by other factors such as difficulty, grey matter or even how dangerous it is.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that employees in every corner of the world should be paid decently for their contribution whatever the affair is and how great an impact it makes on society.
