It is often argued that people should pay a high proportion of tax for constructing public services while others believe that raising taxes causes some negative effects. In this essay, I would evaluate both views before proposing my idea for this statement.
On the one hand, tax revenue can be used for the establishment of new public services. The money will be invested in necessities such as healthcare, education and infrastructure. Therefore, such facilities improve the resident’s quality of life, develop a strong health, knowledge foundation and living condition. In addition, when the amount of tax rate is higher, the public revenue can be allocated to people in rural areas, thus, they can eradicate the inequality between rural and urban areas.
On the other hand, Taxation payers endure financial difficulties when the tax rate is higher than their income. For some individuals, especially disadvantaged families, they have to struggle with living expenses such as mortage pay, electricity and water bills, food, etc. If the government forced these families to pay higher tax, they could be under huge burden for living. Otherwise, tax system should public the money allocation transparently to consolidate resident’s belief. Therefore, it can encourage people to pay tax without hesitaiton and suspecion.
In conclusion, taking a large proportion of people’s salaries for public facilities bring residents huge benefits whereas it is disadvantagous for poor family to be responsible for building public services. The amount of taxation should depend on each individual’s income can be a practical solution for this argument.
