It is a well-known fact that advertisements influence our day-to-day lives in many ways. According to some people adverts always makes people wanting for more or better version of the products they already have and makes a negative impression. Some others believe these commercials can impact positively from an economic perspective. This essay discusses both views and arrives at a conclusion.
Advertisements are very crucial for companies from an economic point of view. Success of a product in the market not only depends on the quality of the product but also the way it is marketed to the end user. For instance, phone manufacturers like samsung and apple spent millions of dollars marketing their latest generation products to get each and every new features to the end user. In this modern technology driven world everything is at our fingertips, companies make use of the technology and advertise their products to reap benifits.
On the other hand, adverts keep people wanting for more, I would say that is a human instinct, but with clever marketing companies around the globe are using it for their benifit. If we take the case of samrt phones as an example, all major phone manufacturers release their flagship products every year with very minimal design or hardware changes, but with their marketing strategies they attract customers even though their last gen products are on par with the new product. However, manufacturers are doing their job to make their product sell in the market, in my opinion people should be wise not to fall into their trap. Moreover, as mentioned earlier we have every information available on our fingertips, one should consider watching reviews of product before considering buying it based on adverts.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that advertisements have both negative effects and positive effects. The consumer should be more vigilant and should consider alternatives and compare with similar products before making a decison.
