Band 4+: Some people say free time activities for children should be organized by parents. Others say that children should be free to choose what they do in their free time. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

People argue about who has to choose free time activities for children, someone says the parents and others say the kids should feel free to choose what they want to do.

Often people think that kids, especially from a young age, should decide alone how they want to spend their own free time.

In my opinion children can’t make they mind up about what is more interesting and parents should decide for them from their experience what can help them grow better.

If kids are allowed to choose activities they probably wouldn’tthink about what is the best for them in the future. For example they probably would stay at home watching tv or play games because they don’t know how fun can be go outside and try new activities such play sports or an instrument.

As i said before, often parents are more ecperienced and know what is the best for a young kid but they still have to listen to the kid opinion and don’t force anything since it’s not really healty. Group activities are a great opportunity to spend time with other kids and learn soft skill that can help the growth and couldn’t be learned at school or spending time alone. For instance team sports such as football or volleyball are important to learn soft and social skill that wouldn’t be learned anywhere, but even the physical movement done in these sport play a fundamental role in the development and the general wellfare of the child.

In conclusion, kids don’t always know what is the best for them and must be helped by people around them like adults that already make most of the experiences and know how the world works.
