There is a view that spending time and money on certain scientific projects is a waste. Personally, I completely disagree with this notion for several reasons.
One of the major reasons is that scientific research helps people avoid diseases. When people get diseases, they can get rid of these taking drugs and vaccinies, which a greater amount of both time and money is if often spent on to discover. This may allow people to live in a better life without diseases. A good case in point is COVID-19 pandemic, which caused high mortality rates in many countries. This pandemic was mitigated by vaccinies scientific research discover. In this sense, it is logical to consider that without medicine vaccinies, people would still suffer from this disease.
Another reason is that it makes people’s lives convenient and better. With significant advancements in technology sector, people now can work at home. This enables them to improve their family relationships and productivity, since they may spend most of their time with their families and take short breaks, which boosts concentration and efficiency. Take Canada, for instance, where lower rates of divorce and most productive workers are observed due mainly to major developments in technology field. This illustrates why the amount of time and money spent on scientific research is not squandered.
In conclusion, scientific research can help people refrain from diseases and enhance people’s life and productivity with progresses in both medical and technology sectors. Therefore, I firmly believe that allocating time and money is not a waste today.
