It is often argued that scientific research does not justify the funding allocated to them. Although many people demand its cancelation, I personally agree that scientific explorations can make some major benefits for human and wildlife.
On the one hand, scientific research can be considered as a waste of money. This is mainly because many investigations require a significant amount of time and money, which may not always produce useful outcomes in the long run. For example, if a government allocates excessive funding to one particular scientific project, other important fields such as health, infrastructure, and education may suffer from lack of sufficient financial support. In addition, many explorations are based on scientific hypotheses not actual facts, viewed as a synonym of waste of resources. As a result, public fund could not spend money to other main sectors, which may pose a serious challenge to economic condition. Therefore, many people think that scientific research does not bring any benefits to our world.
Nevertheless, I believe that scientific explorations play a crucial role in human progress. This is largely because scientific projects are often viewed as a long-term investment, which can result in ground-breaking breakthrough in many fields such as medicine and environmental preservation. Without scientific research, researchers cannot test their theories and propose solutions for both existing and potential problems we face. For instance, scientific exploration are done during the COVID-19 pandemic enabled scientific community to discover new vaccines against the virus, allowing many people to recover and continues their normal life. Thus, despite a huge amount of effort and its side effects, the positive outcomes of such scientific research should be supported by community.
In conclusion, some people think that scientific research is the way for wasting resources. However, I personally contend that scientific explorations are essential as they contribute to the development of many fields
