Nowadays, healthcare is a basic need for every citizen. According to some people, healthcare facilities costs should be paid by the government. However, some people not completely agree because they have to pay with themselves. I firmly believe that the authority should not make all health facilities free, but if not for everyone at least the government can give to folk who are not financially capable. In this essay, I will give both opinions along with my perspective.
Public believe that more benefits when healthcare is completely free. Firstly, perhaps the health awareness rate in this country is very low, many people do not care about their health because it is very expensive for their. For example, data from the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Cultural, the government will makes it free for medical check-up for those who celebrate their birthdays, this issue can make public do not worry about financial and increase health awareness in the future. Secondly, in the macroeconomics aspect have impact for creating jobs opportunities in the health sector.
However, those who disagree with completely free healthcare because limited budgets, in middle-income country like Indonesia not all sectors have a large budget. For example, data from the Ministry of Finance Indonesia show that the Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia only has budget 6% from total government spending budget, therefore the authority must be careful about spending budget in health field. In addition, some people who already wealthy can pay by themselves.
To summarize, i want to underline that making decision free for healthcare field not a prime solution. Many aspect like education, defense must get attention from the authority. Instead that, the government can makes free insurance for who unable to pay it.
